Skanska is a large construction and development company in the Nordic region. The Construction division, which is the main business performs assignments for external clients as well as for the groups own development divisions. Projects within non-residential buildings and civil construction account for the main part of assignments. Skanska’s leading positions in terms of size is an important competitive parameter when bidding on large and complex assignments. The margins on the big-scaled projects within civil construction are often higher due to a less intensive competition and higher risk profile. Long-term, the general economic trend will determine the size of future construction investments.
