Aker ASA is an industrial investment company with principal activities in the oil & gas value chain. AKER is structured as a treasury and two holdings. Industrial Holdings (Drilling, Solutions, Det norske, BioMarine, Clean Carbon) and Financial Holdings (Converto Capital). Industrial Holding has partly or full ownership of five industrial companies, whereas the companies within Financial Holdings act as investment advisors and invest in listed companies for their specific funds. The AKER companies are closely connected throughout the oil & gas value chain with Aker Drilling owning a drilling rig designed and built by Aker Solutions, and then contracted to Det norske oljeselskap. Due to its oil & gas industry exposure, AKER’s main driver is oil companies’ activity level which is driven by the oil price.
