PARIS -(Dow Jones)- French train and power equipment manufacturer Alstom SA (ALO.FR) is interested in buying wind turbine makers REpower, Spain's Gamesa (GAM.MC) and Denmark's Vestas (VWS.KO), Les Echos newspaper reported Thursday.
Several people familiar with the matter Wednesday said Sulzon is seeking to sell REpower, which is controlled by India's Suzlon Energy Ltd. (532667.BY). The India-based company's CEO has reportedly spoken with several potential bidders including General Electric (GE), Siemens AG (SEI.XE) and Alstom.
Alstom's spokeswoman said the company won't comment on the Les Echos report.
