FRANKFURT -(Dow Jones)- German car maker Daimler AG's (DAI.XE) bus unit EvoBus GmbH Friday said it will cut jobs at sites in Mannheim and Neu-Ulm to increase its competitiveness and secure the company's future.
MAIN FACTS:
-Daimler will cut around 630 positions by December 31, 2018.
-There won't be any forced redundancies before the end of 2018, Daimler said.
-The unit guarantees to take on 90% of all trainees permanently.
-EvoBus GmbH employs 8,300 staff in Germany, of which 3,500 work at its Mannheim site and 3,800 in Neu-Ulm.
