KUALA LUMPUR--The giant Gorgon LNG project is more than 40% complete and is due to start operations in 2014, Chevron Corp. (CVX) Vice Chairman George Kirkland told a conference Wednesday.
San Ramon, Calif.-based Chevron--the second biggest oil company in the U.S. behind Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM)--is investing heavily in Asia-Pacific through the construction of Gorgon as well as the Wheatstone project to tap a projected surge in demand for cleaner-burning fuels.
