LOS CABOS, Mexico--Spain will officially request aid for its banking sector "any day," a senior European Union official said Tuesday.
"According to existing rules, this will have to pass by the government," he told reporters. "But it can pass in a more light, or more heavy way. We're trying to do in a way which will transit as lightly as possible."
