Norwegian technology company Kongsberg Gruppen ASA (KOG.OS) said Thursday it has been awarded a NOK388 million contract from BAE Systems PLC (BA.LN) to supply combat systems for military vehicles.
-BAE Systems, Sweden, is the main supplier to the Norwegian Army's upgrade program of the CV90 infantry fighting vehicle.
-Kongsberg leads a Norwegian team of Kongsberg, Thales Norway and Vinghoeg.
-The system increases crew situational awareness and ability to operate swiftly and efficiently.
-The Norwegian Army's upgrade program of the CV90 also includes installations of new capabilities like Remote Weapon Stations (RWS). These are to be delivered through the Protector "Nordic" contract, disclosed Dec. 21, 2011.
-At 1206 GMT shares traded 0.4% lower at NOK113.50.
