Senior U.K. government ministers are considering fully nationalizing Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (RBS), the Financial Times reports Thursday, without saying where it got the information.
Ministers are considering buying the 18% of the bank British taxpayers don't already own amid frustration at weak bank lending, the paper reports. Full nationalization would enable ministers to force the lender to increase loans to businesses, it adds.
